Hi walker.

There's an excellent book out by Barbara Coloroso called "The Bully, The Bullied, and the Bystander". That might be a good place to start and you can possibly get a copy from a library.

She makes an important point that bullying is not about conflict, but is about contempt.

I have a few theories about why the level of contempt for others is rising in our society, but will have to save them for another time. Must run now... but wish you success with your search to understand this disturbing phenomenon better.

all the best, kroika

I was afraid to go back to school scared of what people would say but any other trouble from my so called friends and i just had to tell the teacher.

Sorry, Walker, I didn't see your most recent post until just now.

P & L has asked a good question. Do you want to say more about what your personal connection is to bullying? Is it happening right now to you or someone you care about? Or do you perhaps know someone who is a bully?

The book I mentioned should be available at a library ("The Bully, the Bullied and the Bystander" by Barbara Coloroso) and I do think it would be a very good place to start. Do you have access to a decent library where you are?

Hope to hear more from you. Take care, kroika

right Kroika- we need to know if it was at work, home, involved adult bullying, childhood bullying. There are lots of resources. It is a tough thing the experience at any age, but must be handled with care and the right strategies.

I would like to put this thread back at the top and maybe have some more feedback please. My daughter has been bullied in school for years. I am at a loss as to what to do for her.
