I find I make time to sort while watching Tv instead of just watching TV or sometimes just turn the music on instead of the TV and make little piles out of big ones

Hi everyone,

Its great to share this positive support for getting things cleaner and making life in general nicer.

Craving the sun could be becuase you need Vitamin D. You body produces it when you get sunlight. It could also be that you haven't seen it in a while. I sometimes just need to get outside and will go nuts without some freshair and sunlight.

My house is smelling bad again, but its so hard to keep up with. I have an elderly dog that I absolutly adore, but she "leaks". We are currently working with the vet on incontenance treatments, but until we find something that works, if anything will, the house constantly smells of pee. This week I worked 56 hours and was just too tired to clean it up. So now I'm overwhelmed and escaping into the computer.

But I called a friend today and invited him to the movies at 7, only if I get the house cleaned. So I can't escape for much longer. I have atleast 4 hours of work and about 4.5 hours until he will be here. He understands my struggles with this. We used to help eachother a lot before he hooked up with a jelous girlfriend. He broke up with her a while back and we are just getting back to our friendship. Its nice to have support and external motivation. Although he only does this everyone once in a while because we both think I should do this for me and not becuase someone is coming over. (He actually helped me see the pattern in cleaning when I was expecting guests and how I let it go when it was just me)

I really don't understand why I struggle so much with cleaning for me. I can do it in a heartbeat for someone else, but when it is for me, I just don't want to invest the time and energy.

But babysteps, right now I'm going to try to get it picked up and smelling better.

I like the 15 minute thing... it helps me alot.

This week Flylady is in the master bedroom. I have talked Cat into doing her "master bedroom" missions as well.

As part of building a lovely life, Flylady really encourages you to make this room special. A retreat. For those of you who are married a place to honor that marriage and for those of us who are single to place to renew.

I know I am in the habit now of sleeping with the tv on. I can spend the whole day working from home without a sound but the birds outside but come time to go to sleep and I have to have it on.

I cannot justify going out and spending money to re-do my bedroom right now, but I really am going to work on it being special this week. A place I can go for comfort.

Any thoughts on how to make it more special with very little money?

(((Chel & Bitsy)))

I'm back from my business trip with the clear realization that I don't yet view my life as lovely. It can be. Some might see the components as lovely, but it is not. But it can be.

I think I need a fun weekend thread. I'm going to start that and then I'm going to work on visualizing.

Ok, in the lovely version of my life, my bathroom is clean. So is my kitchen and it has the lovely smell of fresh bread and veggie soup in the crock pot. hmmmm. i may be half way there. I'm going to square away my bathroom now. Bet it takes only five minutes.

I'm having trouble visualizing a lovely life. In that life, I don't have a low grade fever, I can tell you that. Ok, so if in my lovely life, I did have a low grade fever, people would back off while I rest and try to get better. I would drink hot tea (check) and read a lovely book (instead I'm trying to figure out how to get caught up at work). Here's where I phone a friend. Hmm. I can figure out how to fix this.

How do firm the boundaries so that others lives don't overly impact the lives we are creating?

Bonni, I have been sick as well. I powerwashed my front porch. I am slowly doing the things that need to be done. Remember, slow and steady wins the race.

I am having my carpets cleaned this afternoon.

Bonni,

Low grade fever is a messenger.

To take care of you first and foremost.

Your body is talking to you right now.

When this happens to me, I load up on a strong pot of echenecia (sp?) iced tea with honey and take a bunch of vitamin C - 3 times a day.

I also try to get myself in a real quiet place and just ask myself/ my body just what is going on here?

The answers usually surface on their own.

Then, I know what I have to do or not do.

Part of our process, I think, is learning how to re-connect with our bodies.

Low grade fever is sending you a message.

Thanks TBT,
I am finally feeling better. Overall, I know I'm worn down and need to take care of myself. Its a busy day today and I have to pick and choose what I'm going to do. In the immortal words of Kris Kringle, I probably need to keep putting "one foot in front of the other and soon..." I'll be walking through the door of my lovely life.

TODAY, I will spend one more hour creating a lovely home that is my refuge from th world and training my two lovely daughters to be able to survive in the world.

Bonni, I bought myself new bedding to create a retreat in my bedroom. I bought the shabby chic look from Target. It is light and airy and I can't wait to sleep in there tonight. Little things add up.

Excellent Bitsy, I hope its like sleeping in a hug tonight.

My hour was pretty productive. I didn't finish laundry. I did two loads start to finish, I have a load to fold and a load to dry.

The kitchen is 3/4 there. The living, bedroom and bathrooms too. My desk area is bad. Ok, time to go.

Day 2 of making my bed.

Courage, join us on our journey. The more the merrier.

I am having a party at my house Friday night. Two ladies from a group I am in are room redesigners. I am letting them redesign any room they want in my house. I have invited any and everyone to come see. It will take them about an hour so the Mary Kay lady is going to talk to the rest of us about makeup, skincare and new colors for spring, and another lady who is a massage therapist is coming with her chair to give mini-massages.

Now I live in 965 square feet, but so what! We are having Mexican hors deauvres and margaritas.

Report: The Mary Kay lady was sick. We all got mini chair massages. I turned into a noodle afterward. The ladies decided to redesign my living room. You wouldn't believe how BIG it looks!!! Everyone was really impressed and I think two ladies are going to hire them to come to their houses. We all had a great time. Cat had friends over as well and two girls spent the night with her.

Ok, part of my lovely life includes freshly baked stuff. I made 2 dozen muffins this morning and I'm baking bread. I'm getting ready to make cookies now.

then I'm going to spend an hour cleaning up.
