At least it is a label you can use to seek help.

How are you feeling about it otherwise?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm......why be suidcidal when so many with the same disorder are leading relatively normal lives and being productive members of sociaety.

would you be suicidal if you had been diagnosed with syphilus or gonorhea?

Also treatable?

Well...now that you have the diagnosis...what are you going to do about meds?

If you want to be heavy hearted...that's understandable for awhile. maybe a long while. But others you know will be more supportive than you think and if they see you making an effort to not be so heavy hearted then they will be there for you even more. It gets to be a xycle...

Good luck.

CALL IT WHAT YOU WISH BPD, USV, TOPS,
It does take some of the responsibility off of you, when it really lies with you. YOU are responsible for your safety and well being.
There are so many diagnosed with BPD now, and I just think its crap.
The truth is, you are depressed, you sound young and you feel alone and no one cares. See my answer to you on your "no one cares" thread.
I do, others do, and it is YOUR responsibility to reach out and get the help and love for you that you deserve.
I know the darkness, but without darkness there would be no such thing as light. Light is there, waiting for you to reach towards it.
Light in the form of people, situations, spirit, love and self love.
Talk, we will listen and we care. God bless you somebody. I will pray for you now.

Hi there,
BPD is not crap! it just feels crap!
i know, i have lived with a sufferer for many years. It is real but it is treatable.
Infaith belives it is another name for depression, and in a way she is right because depression is a big part of it, but there is more to BPD than that. Sufferers also have others things more than depression. mainly not being able to keep a balance, to a sufferer a person, idea or situation is either totally wonderful or absolutley useless. It is hard for us without it to understand, but when "nobody" talks of blackness, this is part of his BPD too, he cannot maybe see the grey areas inbetween that we can. the same with people, they are either heroes or villains, and this is slightly different from pure depression. there is more going on there than just the blues.
Nobody, can you recognise how you BPD affects you? do you feel that you swing from one extreme to the other?
i know it is hard for you right now, but please if you remember one thing then remember this. the way you feel ABOUT your BPD is determined BY your BPD. So when you feel there is no point in trying to deal with this problem, remember that the negativity you feel is part of the problem. Try if you can to make a decision based on a logical want to treat this, rather than listening to your emotions about it.
logically there is much you can do to help yourself, you may not feel like it, but you should, because the real you that is not affected by the BPD (like maybe when you get a little better at living with it)may WANT to feel happy again, and you must give yourself that option. at the moment you only know how the BPD part feels about the whole thing, and there is more to you than that, give yourself the chance to get better so you can see how you REALLY feel about life.
read up on the condition, there are some excellent web sites, join a support group, they really help. and see what medication you can try, in case you find one that really helps you along the road. But make a logical decision about this, your emotions are affected by BPD, you need to find a way of getting help even if you dont feel like it,
Peace
Hazza

You're acting like you don't want help or hope or even understanding. But you keep coming back to read what's been written. I think that's significant. See your doctor, see your therapist, and try to not let all our support roll off your back.
