Just checking in here and wanted to share this about the Bird Flu. For one, everyone needs to know that it hasn't mutated yet - from being passed human to human. It's only been from bird to human and very few deaths from it. I'm not real sure what's up here with all this fear and hype but don't like it much. At any rate, to give you some real answers about what you can do to help yourself should it mutate or whatever, instead of "just wash your hands more" - here's some tips.

Allicin - is what's made from freshly ground garlic and you can buy it, just look online. Bacteria and viruses can't stand up to it.

Selenium - actually keeps viruses from mutating.

Zinc and magnesium are trace minerals that are very important for you to have on hand and take. They aren't in the ground very much anymore and aren't in our food as a result of it.

Vitamin C can be taken in actually rather large doses. If your stool gets soft, you know to back off - that's your limit.

Lysine is also good to take and have on hand.

Apricot Semen - is a chinese herb that you can also get in alot of whole food places or order online or get from chinese stores that sell herbs. It is something that knocks out respiratory things very fast. Love this stuff.

Just do your own search on these things and see what you find. Tons of information out there about all these things being advantageous to take to fight off the flu or to deal with it if you get it.

I can't stress the importance of Allicin, Selenium and Vitamin C.

Also have on hand the molded type of masks that cover your mouth and nose and mold to your face. You can get them at hospital supply places.

I personally won't take the flu shot because I don't trust what's in it. The two times I have taken it in my life, I got very ill right afterward. And just this last week, a story about Exxon in Florida came out where the man who was giving all their employees shots - wasn't giving them the flu shot at all. They don't know what was in it. And if they'd done their homework about this guy before they hired him to do this, they would have found out he had a long history of fraud behind him.

To me, it's better to try and get yourself off of antibiotics, let your body get strong enough that it can fight things on it's own and to study things like I'm telling you here. Don't just be led into a fear frenzy here guys. Do your own homework, think for yourselves here.

Also, if you do take antibiotics for some reason, have to because you're just too sick, after you're off the antibiotics, go get something called Probiotics from a health food store and take it. What it does - is put the good bacteria back into your body - which antibiotics kill off. They kill of the good and the bad bacteria. That's why so many people get yeast infections right after taking strong antibiotics. Don't take the probiotics until after you are off the antibiotics. This good bacteria can also be found in yogurt that has live cultures in it. But you'd have to eat alot of it to really help you.

Another thing that people don't realize is that they can have a chronic yeast infection, from being on antibiotics all their lives. It can cause a myriad of problems and people don't usually know - what's going on because doctors don't talk to you about this and poo-poo it when you do talk to alot of them.

Adrenal fatigue is also something that alot of doctors don't test you for, which can be a huge problem with people who are abuse victims and are hyper-vigilant. You can do a test for it and you can be treated.

So that's it outa me here, just wanted to give you guys some tips.

Hi there Sdesigns. Well I'm glad it helped you. Alot of people get all uptight about what I said in that article but to me - if it quacks and walks like a duck - it's a duck. If you can't name it, you can't change it. I think, too, you have to ask yourself what you're in abuse for in the first place and be really honest. We make contracts and deals with people and we get something out of what we do, even though we put ourselves in alot of danger and pain doing it. So if we're not willing to be that honest and to let go of our own illicit deals, me or anyone else handing them a way out isn't going to work because they aren't listening. People have few windows open in life when "they do really hear", so if that window isn't open, you're wasting your energy. People have to be really hungry.

But these are my humble opinions and I'm not expert, just lived some life and I share what I learned now and then, that's all. But from what you said here you are one of those people that gets to a point in life and makes true the old saying - when a student is ready - a teacher will appear. The truth is always there, it's just if we're not really ready to hear it, we will go to great lengths to deny it and cover it up when we stumble across it. I always know that when someone spends so much time tearing what I say apart piece by piece that I must have hit a nerve or two. Otherwise, if it's that false and ridiculous - why waste all that energy railing at me? I really don't care all that much anymore as far as trying to help people but if I see someone like you and they are right in front of my face, I'm not so cold and calloused that I will turn away. Let's just say I conserve my energy now and use it wisely. I hope you - read and put things into action. Nothing worse than an Amen corner if no actions follows. I don't need praise and you don't need to do it just to say - Amen sister.

Protect yourself, your children if you have any, grow some balls and use them. If we as women, would learn more about being real sisters to each other, instead of sniping, vicious, manipulative, jealous dogs, we wouldn't have half of the abuse going on that we do because men would think twice before attacking a pack of protective hyenas. There's a reason why they have a fake penis.

And if you care about what people say or think - you might as well shoot yourself in one foot and turn around and shoot yourself in the other foot and get it over with. People fear - independent thinkers and hate them because they loathe the lack of courage in themselves. Get used to it. We're told alot of fairy tales about how much people respect this and that. It's just not true. If you're not a sheep, you're Enemy No. 1. You're only needed when everything goes to hell in a hand basket. THEN people want to know you. Then they go searching for the real leaders on the planet. When everything gets back to normal, they burn them at the stake or crucify them, then they sing songs and write stories about them, calling them - heroes. I really think that for one thing mankind hates it's own conscience and secretly envies the psychopath because he doesn't have one. He or she gets what she wants and doesn't have to deal with guilt at all. How else do we describe what we see going on all around us. A brutal truth if it is true. Thus the reason why no one wants to really think about it much. Our conscience, could only be in dream state right now with mankind as a whole. It will be interesting to see what wins out. Not sure I'll be around to find out but from what I see now - it's not a good forecast. I'd lay my money on the psychopaths because the rest of us are too busy taking the bribes or living in blackmail conditions. It would be nice to see good people actually - do something instead of walking around with their thumb up their butt half the time waiting to be told what to do or what to think from watching the tube. I rest my case in "what we worship". Just look at our icons as far as Hollywood goes. Check out their real character and yet, people live and die based on how they look, what they wear and what they do and say. They are spoiled little brats most of them and can't have a decent relationship with anyone, narcissists and psychopaths most of them. Just watch "Sweet Sixteen" and see what we are raising. And yet, what are they wearing, who are the dating, blah, blah, blah. I crack up at the reality shows and the way the producers set things up to "be a team" and now - turn on each other to get the prize and be out for yourself. Sooooo, what exactly does that teach? And yet, we are glued to all these shows, rooting for the most ruthless ones. So I'd like to change my theory but it keeps being proved for me.

So be careful what you listen to and who's saying it. Question everything and critically think for yourself. Do your own homework and listen to your gut. It's there for a reason and is your most valuable asset. And like I said in my writing - this isn't about me just picking on men, there are plenty of women walking around dolng the same thing with a different flare to it. Huh, Anam Cara? So if you're walking what you talk like Anam Cara finally did - then good for you!

Three good books - People of the Lie, by Dr. Scott Peck, Without Conscience by Dr. Robert Hare, and How to Spot a Dangerous Man by Sandra Brown.

Anam Cara....how are you? Now here is a real special sweet man. We'd all be extremely lucky to know "one" Anam Cara..... There are real men out there and real women and they are priceless gems. I've been extremely lucky to know a few of them.

Dear Ladeska:

You are legendary at this site! This is my first post to AAC and it is to thank you. I have silently read, been inspired and been sustained at this site for many months as I have struggled through searing emotional pain and heartache that culminated in ending an abusive relationship.

I want to thank you for your past posts from which I have learned a great deal and which have been influential in the difficult and painful decisions that I recently made.

You have been a blessing to me as have been many others on this site and I am especially appreciative to the SC for maintaining this unique and incomparable site.

I am grateful, appreciative and humbled by the strength, wisdom and indomitable human spirit that is manifest here each day.

You are all an inspiration to me. With deepest gratitude and admiration.

Ladeska,

Thank you for your advice on the minerals and vitamin C. I have to admit I am pretty concerned about the bird flu especially since medical researchers have found that the flu pandemic of 1918-1919 was a form of bird flu. So, I will do my best to start myself and my kids on a vitamin mineral supplement and hope for the best.

Also, I read the charmer/abuser thread and didn't realize until now that you had posted it. Thanks for that, too. It was right on the money and described my soon to be ex-husband to the "T". You're right about how we don't want to listen until we are ready to be a student. Words of wisdom I won't soon forget.

Hi Moon and Stars - and a big long hug to you. Just wish I could really do that. You deserve it. Sweetheart, the one to really thank here "is you" because like I said - if someone really wants to know the truth - it's there all the time...so if it wasn't me bringing it to you, you'd bump into it somewhere else. It does make me smile though and feel good to know I helped you. To me, it's like this, cut through the B.S. people and just tell it like it is. I got tired of watching people go ring around the rosie with their therapists or just in general, and I'm like well.......I guess I'm not worth much if I see something that needs doing and I do nothing, huh?

Because I know that there will be someone - just like you out there. I'm very well aware of that one, always have been. The "silent readers" have always been my biggest target and the place where my heart really beats. I know these people, I used to be one. I

But "you helped you". I hope you really see that. Me or whoever else have always been here. It's just that you really wanted to be real with yourself, with your life and you reached out to what was always there. I really do love women. I may give them a hard time sometimes but it's only because I know that - we could really be good sisters to each other if we'd just stop being programmed..and stooping to our lower nature.

I love beautiful men and beautiful women and I'm not talking about the outside appearances either. Could give a rat's butt what they look like. Ugly people initially - turn into being hunks and sexy women and very alluring and it's not because they're "bad" either. It's because the inner - radiates to the outer and has a quality to it that's timeless. Consequently beautiful people on the outside make me want to vomit alot of times. Get a room for you and your mirror.

The "boy who's skin fell off" says that one very nicely. What a beautiful soul that boy was. I can't think of anyone that can hold a candle to how beautiful he was.

I think the same thing about the Elephant man. What a lovely man, what a beautiful soul and wonderful mind.

If there is hope for mankind here, we have to stop playing to the superficial and to what we can get quick. Otherwise, the planet will soon be returned to maybe it's rightful owners - the plants and animals that survive us. If we play only to our lower nature, then it will rule and make us extinct. No other answer to that equation.

We have to stop hating our conscience. It's what makes life continue here. And we can't just access it when we're pioneering, or needing cooperation to just get on our feet. We have to treasure it all the time like the jewel it is. Otherwise, we're prey to every wandering psychopath and con man that is all too keen on our weaknesses and our need for quick fixes.

Born psychopaths - come into this world fully armed with a mind that is bent on studying you and learning all your weaknesses and what to say to you, how to trick you and trap you. Sp while your brain is being used up largely with empathy and fear, there's isn't. So that leaves alot of brain power free and clear for other things, doesn't it? Empathy based people are good prey for them because they are guilt driven and fear-based. You have to have all that in place if you're going to control the herd for your own purposes, right? So I take a good long look at religion when it comes to these things and wonder what God really has to do with any of it? There's a big huge difference in being spiritual and being religious. And there's a huge difference between being intelligent and being a robot.

That's why I laugh and raise my eyebrows about the "pandemic bird flu". Hm,m,m,m.......seems we might need to study up on Typhoid Mary and her plight. She didn't have typhoid, btw..... but she was a useful tool to do something else.

So before we go rushing out this way and that way like a flock of wild geese, maybe we need to stop in our tracks and say - soooo, how can you back that up and what does this mean and what does that mean, and who are you and what's your background and what's the history on this and that and really be accountable to ourselves. Novel idea.

Hi Ladeska: Another wonderful post. I like your style! I just ordered one of the books you recommended. Thank you so much. When I first came to this site, I was a student, looking for answers and soaking up info like a sponge (still am). But you Ladeska, were my teacher. And I will always thank you for that. SD

Hi Bonita and Rasputin. I'm so glad that you got something out of what I wrote that helped you. I really am. Makes me smile. It's your life.........and it's over so fast. I hear alot of people say things like, well I left them, but from time to time they still mess with me. Well MOVE then. Remove the temptation. It's a big world, move to another state or to another country, whatever. And all the things we think we would die if we lose - aren't worth it. They really aren't. The quality of life isn't always about wearing designer fashions or driving the latest car or any of that. It's about - peace and being real with yourself. If you can't do that, then good luck living - with "you".

And if we don't do these things, we can kiss our children respecting us - goodbye. They won't. They'll repeat our history and we only have ourselves to blame for it.

They need our "time".........not what we can buy them. And they read us very well. Children are especially intelligent when it comes to this. They may get clouded later but early on, they read you like a book.

And it is "then", in the early years that things are set - for their lives and how they deal with things and their values.

If you radiate fear and confusion - they catch it like the flu. So give them a "hero" they can look up to and imitate.

Thank you for your kind words. All I can say is go be someone that's contagious. ((HUGS)))) People need - inspiration more than they need anything else, so go inspire someone.

As long as you "stay a student" in this life, Sdesigns, the world will open up to you. You might not like some truths you find because truth is brutal and it shakes you to your core. It destroys what we've been taught alot of times and challenges us to "really think". But if you wipe the slate clean every day and say - I know nothing, teach me - then at least you'll know on your death bed that - you really "lived" and you weren't just a programmed robot.

I'm sure you could teach me a thing or two. We all have our talents and skills in this life. I have mine, you have yours. I don't really teach, all I do is guide you to where your heart and mind really wants to go anyways. I just nudge you and squirt water in your face to wake you up, that's about it. But this too, is love... Love isn't about the pretty times and when everything is peaceful. It's about the times when everything is ugly and no one wants to know you and you hate yourself. The one who sits beside you then......is really your friend. As long as they aren't trying to take advantage of your weaknesses while you are down....

I tend to think that being on the bottom is quite the lovely place really. You can see everything from the ground up. Interesting perspective really - being in the bowels of it all. Lends one much wisdom....

And you can run around in your underwear and look like hell and who cares? Yea, I'm a bitch right now, didn't you see the sign on the door? It says BITCH! Leave me alone unless you want to lose an arm!!

But, like I said, the real friends, usually one in ten years.......will go - yea, whatever, you idiot, open the damned door or I'm breaking it down. Just move over, pass the chocolate and the wine and quit yelling. I know you're ugly, what else is new?

I thought this might be interesting to those of you with enquiring minds.

"In October 2002, the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology teamed up with a microbiologist from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

Together, they started to reconstruct the Spanish Flu. In an experiment, published in October 2002, they were successful in creating a virus with two 1918 genes. This virus was much more deadly to mice than other constructs containing genes from contemporary influenza virus.

The experiments were conducted under high biosafety conditions at a laboratory of the US Department of Agriculture in Athens, Georgia.

In the February 6, 2004, edition of Science magazine it was reported that two teams of researchers, one led by Sir John Skehel, director of the National Institute for Medical Research in London and another by Professor Ian Wilson of the Scripps Research Institute in San Diego had managed to synthesize the hemagglutinin protein responsible for the 1918 outbreak of Spanish Flu by piecing together DNA procured from a lung sample taken from the body of an Inuit woman buried in the Alaskan tundra and a number of preserved samples taken from American soldiers of the First World War.

The two teams had analyzed the structure of the gene and discovered how subtle alterations to the shape of a protein molecule had allowed it to move from birds to humans with such devastating effects.

On October 5, 2005 researchers announced that the genetic sequence of the 1918 flu strain had been reconstructed using historic tissue samples[2]. The 2005 H5N1 bird flu strain spreading through Asia has some features of the 1918 strain but is so far not able to pass easily from human to human. [3]

On October 21, 2005 AVI BioPharma Inc. announced that some combinations of antisense drugs appeared to reduce the rate of genetic replication of the 1918 Spanish flu virus in laboratory experiments.

This testing most certainly would have occurred at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) or possibly CDC in an enhanced level 3 or level 4 biosafety lab. [4]

Additional experiments showed that a single mismatch within the targeted region of the virus caused less than a 10 percent loss of activity of the drug. This raises the possibility that a single antisense drug could potentially shut down multiple virus subtypes, including possibly the H5N1 bird flu, even if a mutation occurred in these highly conserved regions. [5]

AVI BioPharma and the USAMRIID have previously announced positive results from testing an antisense compound against the Ebola virus. [6] Other antisense compounds are in clinical tests for Hepatitis C virus (HCV) at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs. [7]"

Hi MJ, Bel and Tracylyn - good to hear from you guys, too. Glad everyone is doing well and hanging out. I'm not online much anymore. But wanted to share the stuff about the flu with you. There are some other things I'll post later to add to this information. Basically, I just hope people think for themselves and do their own research.

There are alot of things we can do to help our own immune system and there are age old things that alot of cultures have used for centuries that still do work well. We have our drugs, but there are also thousands of years of knowledge that we don't need to overlook either.

I'm okay, dealing with a very painful back injury right now, and working very long days. Stayed home today because I had to get a break from the spasms.

But that's how it goes with such things. Just takes time to get over it, isn't a fast process.

One thing I read today was kinda interesting. I was reading more about allicin and found out that garlic makes whatever pain you're having in your body more pronounced. Well, I found that one out last night.... I'm sure that wasn't the whole reason but I did put alot of garlic in that pot roast and I did have excruciating pain afterwards in my back and a nasty headache. But, I also got a very hard massage, which I wanted and needed - however, dummy me, I didn't drink alot of water afterwards. Duh. So, if anything caused the pain or the headache it was me not drinking water afterwards like a fish. I know better, too.

I'm better today though, after my headache finally stopped. So if any of you get a deep tissue massage - drink water and lots of it immediately. If you don't, all those toxins just run around in your body and slam you hard.

Alot of aches and pains muscle-wise and headaches are due to dehydration actually. I know that, I just don't like drinking water. Have too many other things to do. But, if I want less pain - drink more water, dingbat.

I do have to say that I LOVE acupressure. It hurts like a son-of-a-gun, but if you have someone zero in on those knots and press until they relieve, even though it does hurt really bad - you will usually get alot of relief from it. It's a hurt-good kind of thing. The old elbow on the knot works wonders. Just don't bruise the muscle.

I also read that kimchi, a powerful little recipe of cabbage, hot peppers and garlic, etc. - is very powerful they say when fighting the flu. People swear by it. It smells horrific and it is spicy! But I guess the worse it smells sometimes - the better it is, huh?

Something else I didn't realize until a few months ago is that - if you have a bacterial infection going on, in your lungs, throats or whatever - don't eat or drink anything with sugar in it because if you do - you're just feeding the bacteria. Makes sense, just never thought about it. So I guess taking Vitamin C would be better than drinking O.J. or any fruit juice really because it has alot of sugar in it.

I think all of us, too, have to watch our stress levels because that lowers our immune system drastically. Alot of stress we can't avoid but there's alot we can. I just got off the phone with a woman that is going through a nasty divorce and quite spent herself and she's getting involved with helping another woman in a similar situation. I was like - What??? She goes - Huh? But if we don't monitor what we have in our own reserve and be honest about what we have to spend here - we'll be bankrupt continuously and chronically. She admitted that she feels rather lost without drama and trauma. But you can't give what you don't have to have. And if you haven't built up your store bin to have an over-abundance and stabilized yourself, then you have no business giving to anyone else. If they really want help, they will find it. Then she talks about how God might have put them in front of her, for her to help. I said - well, if you want to look at it like that, what kind of God would do that to his child? Take you, who can barely stand up here and then put you in the middle of someone else's stress because what? You're the only person on the planet He could find? Just don't buy that one.

But abuse victims thrive on adrenaline and feel lost without it. They find their worth in chaos alot of times. The calm, peaceful times don't seem right because they've never stayed there long enough for it to feel normal.

I've just had to be responsible for myself in that regard and what I give out and what I have left over for me. So that's one reason, I'm not online much anymore.

It's good to talk to you guys though! I've missed my little hippie chick, Tracylyn. You silly momma.

Sorry you are experiencing pain. I didn't know that about garlic. I thought garlic built the immune system. I didn't think it increase the pain? Did I read you right?

I don't believe in flu shots either. Had one and that be my last one 🙂

Good to hear from you. You are missed. Take Good care of yourself.
Sorry that you left. I have always felt like you got so angry with me that you left. You said I was nasty, and then left. I am glad that you aren't holding a grudge. Thanks for being YOU.

My leaving didn't have anything to do with "you" personally, MJ. I think everyone's gotten nasty here now and then. You've certainly had your moments and I've had mine. If I said you were nasty, you probably were. And I'm not the best at sugar-coating things either. Isn't one of my talents. It's hard to understand people though, when it's all about words only. I do hold grudges actually, like most people if they are really honest. But I only hold them against people who have done something horrific against me. Guess that doesn't make me very nice or christian or whatever but oh well. Not saying I hold one against you because you don't fall into that category and if I did because of some petty disagreement that we had here, I'd be pretty lame and would be in desperate need of a life.

You're working through your problems like everyone else here. You can't come to a place like this and not expect otherwise.

And garlic does build your immune system, absolutely, but what I read was that it increases whatever pain you may be having, if you're having some pain in your body at the time, that's all.

thanks for all this info.
I visited with one of my oldest bestest friends this weekend, and we had a long discussion about food, hormones, and the medical industry.
She was recently diagnosed with MS, and has been suffering from stomach issues, chronic back pain for years.
She has always been into homeopathic, Natural organic, healthy foods, suppliments etc. As i was too for a few years and was on a major health kick.
butone thing she shared is that she stopped eating wheat, gluten, anything thats not organic, and will not eat meats that have hormones, preservatives, etc. And she stated that she has NEVER in her life felt better. all her chronic stomach problems are almost non existant now, her chronic back pai is almost non existant, she's lost 45lbs in the past 4 moths, and she says shes feels better than right when she was diagnosed with MS, and that pain and all that came with that was totally devastating for her, and all of us her friends.
I mean she made a lot of drastic changes , but stil allows herslef ot eat some chocolate here and there, but prefers to have organic dark chocolate.
the reason Im mentioningall this here is because If we stopped eating alot of these products that are injected with hormones and chemicals I truly feel that we wouldnt be at such a risk for things like Bird Flu, madcow disease, etc.
Granted I still like My junk food, and well the cheaper meats are what i can afford and unfortunatly its the ones withhormones in tem.
PERDUE brags about makingthier "OWn breed of Chicken" they MEAn they are all chemically injected and not natural, organic and full of all kinds of "stuff" the filers in al fods are a part of whu this nation is so sick, so susceptible to illnesses, obescity etc.
((I think))
I mean Im not jumping on the "food conspiracy" bangwagon, but its really worth looking into, don't you think???

((sorry i kinda 'went off on a tangent' but these are things Ive really been thinking about since madcow, Bird flu, the illnesses that are killing and fattening up this nation.))
