Why is it that I feel better after I have made a loaf of bread a dozen cookies or a cake? And its not like I can do one of those add eggs oil and water and its done. Like today I am in a great mood but I am also making a 6 layer chocolate cake. Could it be therapeutic?

I think that it is.
I think that it is very therapeutic because if you are thinking or going through something so heavy, it can take your mind off of the situation and then after the baking you can eat what you have made.

I just loves chocolate cake. I wish that you could past me a slice of that cake. Is it with chocolate frosting?

I thought that I was smelling something so good and sweet but didn't know that it was you Randomwomen.

well its a chocolate cake with 6 hershey bars broken into it. In between the layers it has a mixture of 3/4 melted chocolate and 1/4 frosting all mixed together. And it has chocolate frosting with mini chocolate chips covering the top of it. My husband told me that if we ever own a restraunt which has been his dream that he wants me to sell the cake for atleast 5 bucks a slice. LOL I think he likes it pretty good

Heck YES, RW!!!

It IS therapeutic and it is a good stress reliever. I'm too impatient to bake (too much chemistry for me). As to bread, Mom always said "lovey, it just takes patience and following the recipe EXACTLY." That's why I'm better at cooking, where there's a wide latitude for independent action.

Mom used to make "Candy Bar Pie", absolutely the bomb diggity. Sounds something like your cake, but in a pie. Lot's of whipping cream and Hershey's with almonds broken up into it. She made it last Xmas and I almost passed out from sheer joy and memories.

And, hey! Hubby's right - $5.00 a slice at LEAST! How fun...I can almost smell it baking in your kitchen as I sit at my desk. Good show!

H-gal

P.S. Does your hubby cook?

I love baking and I almost bake a cake every week-end or every 2nd week-end.

It's a real pleasure, fun and quite delicious. I love all types and flavours of cake. I think I will have a slice of my own cake with a cup of coffee. We're having a real cool summer this year.
