absolutely - I'm on the next flight out there!!! expensive desert!

as far as my cooking - remember that I CAN grill anything - I am on atkins eating plan, so everything is on the grill with a little BAM! seasoning and it's done....which is all I did.

deserts - yeah, I can bake 'em, but again, need recipes.

Lean beef works great as well as shrimp. If you wanna get fancy, mix em up and put both on.

Now Confused, you don't know that! I just love the whole topic of food. Can't get enough chat about it into my head.

Loving it makes you reach and meet any standards, IMO.

How's everyone doing on the diet wagon?

Went to WW yesterday and had a 0.8 lb loss...definitely not the 6+ loss from the week before, but hey, it's still a loss, so I'll take it! My home scale is reflecting a 3 lb weight loss, I'm choosing to believe that scale instead šŸ˜‰

I'm finding that I'm tired a lot, although I'm going to bed earlier, taking vitamins and trying to get in a walk or pilates workout a few times a week. Can't figure out the tiredness.

rising, looking forward, wish2bfree, ggfred, confused, others? how are you doing?

I am still walking daily. Around 2 miles per day. I go by the doctor's office this afternoon for my first weigh in, but I will let you know how that goes tomorrow.

t--your tiredness could just be a change in the weather. I have been experiencing the same thing. Are you drinking plenty of water? When you feel really tired, get up and walk around your house or office and stretch a little. That always helps me.

Everyone keep hanging in there and let us know how you are doing or if you just need a little extra support. LFM

I am still at a 5 lb. loss. That is it after 5 weeks. Due to a physical impairment, exercise is limited to walking and only about a mile every other day. Yes, that is one of my excuses. What about my bag of peanut m&m's I ate this weekend? Thanks trying, for asking about me. I need that accountability.

I went by the doctor's office and weighed yesterday. Good news and bad news. Bad news is I didn't lose anything, good news is I didn't gain anything either. I'm still at a 12 pound loss so far over a period of 6 weeks. I'm not giving up and will continue to walk daily, eat smarter, and drink lots of water. Let me know how everyone is doing......LFM

ggfred and looking forward,

You're both doing good!! It is a great thing to lose weight, but remember, another important thing is to maintain the weight you've already lost. You sound like you are both doing good with maintenance. I hope I can do that also!

It's so easy for me to slip back into a false sense of security after I lose and the pounds come back on. Maintaining is important. I think sometimes our bodies need a break from weight loss so we can acclimate to the new weight and then we can pick up the weight loss again.

gg, I don't think the peanut M&M's hurt your weight loss efforts too much...it doesn't sound like they made you gain any pounds, that is good.

LFM, thanks for the tip about the water maybe making me tired. I think that could be true. I have slacked off a bit on my water consumption this week. I need to drink less iced tea and more water! I also added a B12 supplement to my daily B complex, C, and Vitamin E.

Tonight I'm doing a gentle yoga class...I'm not going to burn a lot of calories, but I figure at least I'm stretching muscles (and staying away from that darn refrigerator.) šŸ˜‰

Hang in there!

t--thanks for responding. Sometimes I feel like I'm on here by myself. Weight loss has never been easy for me and according to my body mass, I am considered obese. I hate how that feels. I will continue to walk and try to eat healthy whether the pounds come off or not. It just makes me feel better all around. Hang in there and keep posting--it really is encouraging. LFM

I had a very good week, diet-wise. I started a new program. It's free, and it's online. It's Setting Captives Free. It's a Christian-based eating program that incorporates Bible study with an eating plan. The plan seemed pretty extreme when I started: 2 days of liquids until dinner; 2 days of eating 1/2 portions of 3 meals; 2 normal days; and 1 fasting day of just water. I made it through one week though, and I actually notice that I feel better and more energized on the days I eat less.

Good for you Jastypes. We all find different things that work for us and I think it is wonderful that you found something. I would have a hard time with the fasting day because of medical reasons though. Keep us all posted on how it is going for you. LFM

Hi all,

I had a 1.2 lb loss at WW today. That puts me (officially) at 8.2 lbs down. My sister in law hit her 10 lb mark today. šŸ™‚

I haven't done much in the way of exercise lately, I've still been tired and unmotivated.

My goals for this coming week are: drink 80 oz of water daily, go to my gentle yoga class Tuesday night, and walk a mile at least once this week.

If you had to pick your own goal for this week, what would it be?

TELL YOURSELF.......I CAN DO THIS!! šŸ™‚

Way to go t2bB. Setting goals is very important.

I go for my weigh in this afternoon and I feel ok about that. I hope I have lost some. My clothes sure are feeling a lot better on me these days so even if the pounds aren't coming off, the inches must be. And I do understand that muscle weighs more than fat so I'm ok with that too.

My goal for this week is to walk 2 miles every day and ride my exercise bike for 15 minutes a day.

More exercise this week! It's muggy here, so not comfy, but I'll do it anyway!

Finally got rid of the migraine headache I had for 5 days. I didn't walk my 2 miles yesterday but I will get back on track today.

On a great note: I've lost a total of 16 pounds. I'm so excited.

The weather here has been kinda crazy---very cool in the mornings but getting hot later in the day. I'll still go walking though and do my exercises.

Let me know how everyone is doing.

LFM, migraine headaches...UGH! I don't think I'd be getting anything done with one of those either.
CONGRATS on the 16 lb loss! That's fantastic.

H-gal, good for you. Muggy weather makes you burn more calories, doesn't it? (Well...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!) šŸ˜‰

You got it T! Muggy and loaded with Vog....ugh. It has a horrid chemical smell (volcanic ash) but looks like L.A.!

I've already been out walking on 2 different errands this a.m. at work. Now, for the walk home!

Yes, I think hot weather probably boosts you a bit, makes your cooling system work hard - certainly makes ya sweat more.

Oh!

Looking Forward and T, did you guys try the Lean Cuisine brick oven pizzas? I love the garlic chix but tried the BBQ chix last night - ono! (that means good, here). Really tasty. If you don't like cilantro, warning, you might not like this. They do it like the old Dave and Buster's chicken pizza - with bbq sauce and cilantro.

I just loved it. Didn't even finish! Brought some of it to work today for a snack.

Onward and upward, right?

Yes h-gal, I've tried those pizza's. I don't care much for the cilantro so it wasn't that good to me. I like most of their food though. While I'm losing some weight, I think I'm losing more inches than pounds. That is ok, but I really want to start seeing a difference. I get discouraged sometimes because I feel like nothing I am doing is working. That's why I'm glad this thread was started. It is great encouragement for me on days like today when I don't feel like exercising.

Oh well, you said it best h-gal--onward and upward. Have a great day!!

H-gal, I haven't tried the brick oven pizzas yet. I'm not a big cilantro fan either. But I do like LC meals and I also eat some of the Smart Ones (WW) kind.

I went to my gentle yoga class last night and glad I did - it was a good stretch and mind centering as well! It has me geared up to try to get in that one mile of walking this week, one of my other goals.

Sorry you have to deal with vog, it sounds like it would make the air thick and heavy.

Vog - that's a new term for me. I like ono - "good". I'm a word geek - love learning new words. Keep 'em coming! I learned a new Hawaiian term the other day- Ho'oponopono. Have you heard about that? It's a concept of releasing negative energy. I am going to learn more about it.

Hope everyone has a great day, stay motivated! šŸ™‚

Due to some medical stuff going on, I had to go ahead and weigh today instead of on MOnday. I'm down another 1-1/2 pounds. That makes the total 17-1/2 pounds so far. That makes me very proud of myself.

I'm battling some high blood pressure issues and some chest pain. ER doctor wasn't much help at all. Will see cardiologist next week so hopefully it will all be ok.

I'm still walking and exercising and of course eating better. Don't worry--I'm not over doing it--if it hurts, I stop.

Everyone, please keep me posted on how you are all doing. I need the support and encouragement.

Anyone hear of Detoxatrim? I just started using it. It's supposed to help your body rid the toxins and at the same time supresses your appetite and increases your metabolism and is supposed to curb your sugar cravings.

I've been using it for three days now and so far it has supressed my appetite like it claims and my sugar cravings with some minor side affects such as some light stomach upset and lightheadedness.
