I felt fine until I read some of the threads. I've worked very hard for many years and feel quite healthy. I'm in a great relationship and have a great job. I'm happy with what I have. can anyone relate???

hey Neelie

i'm just beggining this journey, trying to figure it all out. - but today i took a really big step, one i didn't believe i would be able to take, i confronted the reality of why i've "loved" someone for 3 years and lost controle over my life in the process. with the help of Hazza and Broc i've got a grip on those emotions and i feel stronger than I have in years. knowing in gut that it's not love, and understanding why he had this power over me, ha staken such a big weight off my shoulders. i know i have a long way to go, but i'm really happy, and i feel like i can do this now. whats more i've develpoed insight into my relationship with my father that desperatly needed, and now i have the strength to face him as well. life may not be perfect, but it's deffinitly getting better!
stay happy!

Hi Neelie,
thanks for posting this. Your question made me smile. I think I feel healthy most of the time, and I managed to find some good ways of "getting out of it", when I'm not feeling healthy. I still would like to improve those.

Please don't feel obliged to have a problem, just because on our threads here it might seem to be the nomal way of life. To care about other's problems is good - as long as it doesn't get you down. And feeling good NEVER EVER is something to feel bad about!

Take care, and don't feel afraid of being happy 🙂

Neelie,

yes, good topic.

Keeping others separate from oneself is a Therapist's number one job! Counselors/therapists can't help people if they become too consumed by others. It takes a system of checks and balances to empathize without feeling hurt or responsibility.

It's okay to get a little bummed hearing a sad story or a tough time. It's natural.

We're all welcome here whether we've got 1 million questions, or just a million smiles and a pound of advice.

thanks for your post.

Hi Neelie,
Its great that you are happy,
i have many problems that i am working on right now, but most of the time i am happy too! I love being me and wouldn't want to be anyone else ever, despite any personal challanges i may have.

I realise that in reading the posts it may seem like everyone is always in denial that eveyone is co-dep and so on, but it is just a coincidence!!

Many of the people here come to this sight becuase they are not happy, they get here and recognise the storys as being like their own life, we all share and grow.

Many of the problems have similar themes, abuse, co=dep, low self steem and so on, becuase there is alot of it about!!!

People without some of these issues are unlikely to visit this site in the first place. so it can give the impression that no-one can have a happy relationship and so on but that is a false impression, it is just becuase of the nature of this site that so many of us gravitate here to share our storys.

What brought you to this site in the first place? if you are really happy then please don't allow reading our stories to change that, maybe you can let us know about you, hearing about a happy relationship could help is all too!!!!
Peace
Hazza

I'm feeling happy and balanced now. I admit that when I first started posting here i was one of the lost ones. But with the help of others' guidance and some self-exploration, plus reading about the trials and tribulations and travails of others, I made my way to sanity. I'm grateful to this site for that alone!

Ditto Cici's comment. Isn't there an old saying, "Once I was lost but now I'm found?"

Last year, felt like a bucket of crap. Now, man, joy, peace serencity. Just like you neelie. You did the work years ago, and now you life is great. What your reading here is people that are NOW, where you were BACK then.

I am great now. But wasnt always that way. I had to see I had a problem, admit I had responsiblity, got some professional help (a must), got into some group settings and read books.

Probably just like you did. Most of the people here are just now starting their path. Don't be bummed, but be joyful. I like it because it allows me the opportunity to give people hope, just as I got here a year ago, and still get today.

I am very happy. I have a husband who I feel more love and respect for everyday, and a strangely beautiful son who is pure joy for me. I have had much sadness in my life, but I know love is the most important thing, and I try to live my life accordingly.

Broc...Once I was lost is from a hymn.

On the one hand I feel organized religion can be a real crock (Brox...hehehe) but I personnally like the stuff myslef. My 60's/70's mentality keeps me from liking the organized stuff

Neelie....Do I feel healthy? somedays.. or until I talk to my therapist. Then I feel the denial. Esp when I always am FINE FINE FINE.

someday I"LL DO A POST and ya'll can work me over for the better

XXOO

I just wanted to let everyone know I am feeling like a million today. I haven't felt like this in a long time, and I think a part of the reason for my happiness is this site. Thanks everyone for all your wonderful imput.

Anne Frank once said "Whoever is happy will make others happy too." I really believe this.

I have just landed a job, my wedding plans are smooth, and I am feeling confident. I wish you all a peice of my happiness so that it may last.

Kay.
