Hi November: I just had a modified brow lift and my upper and lower eyelids done last week (Wed). The bruises are gone from my eyes (a little puffy though) and I still have staples in my scalp- those will be removed tomorrow. From what I have read from my DR, facelifts take at least 2 weeks because you have 2 wear a chin strap for 2 weeks. So the bruising might be gone but you might still need support under the chin.

I am just thrilled with the results. I was so excited going in- not afraid at all. It was somewhat painful afterwards but the painpills helped plus I spent about 2 days w/ ice/ gel packs on my eyes. Overall, wasn't as bad as i thought but I sure woldn't want to do it again! Hope this helps. And good luck!! Enjoy. SD

i went in last year for a consult, but since it has been so long i am going back in the 23rd to look at everything again and schedule the surgery. he didn't mention anything about a chin strap???? sounds like i will need longer than what i thought. did any of your hair have to be shaved in front. i was worried about that becuz my hair is thin anyway. sounds like yours went well, how exciting. i can't wait but i know it will be painful. i work from home alot of the time so i will be able to be home some, but i didn't want to be down a whole two weeks. oh well, we will see what he says. could you sleep ok??

For the brow lift there were 3 incisions made- one in front in the hairline and one on each side about an inch above the ears. No shaving. Can't be seen. The night before surgery they gave me a sleeping pill and said take half but I woke up about 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. Nurse said I probably should have taken the whole thing. After surgery, the pain medication made me wired instead of sleepy. I was supposed to sleep during the day but couldn't. Plus I just kept looking in the mirror all day long, in between ice packs. The first night I slept on the couch to keep my head elevated plus the sides of my head hurt due to the staples in the sides. It wasn't nearly as painful as I had anticipated. They also caution you that you will be nauseous bit not me- I was ravenous and ate everything in sight. My Mom supplied me with soup, pudding, etc and its a good thing because I didn't feel up to cooking but was sure up for eating! I work at home too so its been a little easier not having to deal w/ returning to a reg job. Good luck! SD

If you have light skin and hair, you could have your bruises for longer than a week or two. Best thing to do is ask the Dr. about how long it will take to heal.
