hey
just wondering if anyone else has my problem, which is,,
i have done this all my life,, but i laugh when i am nervous/scared
and i think i laugh for other emotions as well...
idk why i do it but i took my son to the dr for his checkup today and he started screaming bloody murder (no vaccines either) just by bein in the office,
but so i started 'laughing' and the first thing the dr said to me before 'hello' was 'no laughing' i was like ok, i told him i do it when i get nervous,
he was so critical of me 'laughing' and id never met him so i was tryin to explain i do it when im nervous...

just wonderin if anyone has this problem, i think i need 2 work on it cause it might confuse my son,, but ive known other (women) who do this also,,

any advice??

I have one son who laughs when under the gun, so to speak. He represses his emotions and laughs when he really should cry or yell or when he feels fear.

Maybe this is what you are doing? Could you get counseling for it? My son did...and it really helped. He rarely does it anymore.

OMG!!!!! I have the exact same problem. I seem to express every emotion by laughing. HAHAHAHAHA.....see? I seem to laugh during serious situations. But I cant help it!!!!!! I dont really know how to solve this problem but I learned to embrace it. It keeps me smiling and it helps look at the brighter side of situations.

Maybe im scared to let others know that I feel things other then happiness?
