I was thinking about it after I broke down and started submitting my story to Oprah and Montel Williams show begging that they use their money and influence to get me the hip surgery I so desperately need.

I figure that:
If that one chick could get a couple grand for her father's "Soul" or "Ghost" and the Cane that belonged to him so her son could sleep in his room and not be scared.

And that Chick could get a couple grand for that Cheese Sandwich that had Marilyn Monroe...Oh, I mean the Virgin Mary on it.

And charlatans can sell fake Lance Armstrong Bracelets to steal money from people.
(I don’t want to sell bracelets under false pretences but if people are throwing their money at those little strips of rubber like they are the key to solving the worlds problems then why can’t I make one to help me get surgery instead of going to the Chicago Cubs or the vending machine outside the little Polish Grocery by my house?)

What can I do to start a “I need a shiny new Hip” Fund?????

Sell something on eBay? Start a website? What?

Any brilliant ideas that could get me one step closer to being able to finally start a life???

I know that this is probably a pipe dream but any even vaguely realistic ideas would be greatly appreciated if for nothing more then cheering me up!

What an awesome thread!!! And funny too, and realistic except of course for your own pain.

Well I will tell you I would NOT recommend the dead finger in the chili scenario... smiles!

I wish I could think of something tangible, but my old brain is not working too well a tthe moment. But you never know, there could be many creative realisitic ways to pursue this idea..so will leave this to the more creative!

Yeah, I THOUGHT about Spoofing Chipolties (Spelled wrong...) but some teenie bopper in Arizona SWALLOWED A RAISER BLADE and tried to blame it on the restruant...
LOL! JK,JK~ LOL!

He was still in the hospital the last time I heard anything...

I need to find SOMETHING that would garner international attention like that woman's father's ghost that will get people to take notice!

Well, thanks for the encouragement and the laughs! That is what I really need the most right now!

(P.S. The shingles has started to recede a bit cuz of the meds and this Sulfer Cream I got at K-Mart! Keep your fingers crossed!)

A cry for Help,

I am sorry you are going through this. Once, I had to raise money to help a lady who lived near my place for an operation . (Now, I know the kind of money i was asking for is not as much as you may be needing now but i thought this could be a start). What i begun doing was asking friends; I wasn't sure it would work but i began asking friends to chip in and in the end, a cycle was created as one person mentioned it to another and another and another. At the end, we had enough money for her operation, her meds after the surgery as well as money for her to begin a small trading venture to help her out since she didn't have a regular job and wasn't supposed to do any heavy kinda work for a long while.

If you are a member of a church, you could also ask for help from your church. Many churches have some kind of welfare funds and that might give you a bit.

Who knows, someone you mention to could come up with another more brilliant idea.

All the best.

Regret
