I got a pointless rant. I hate these assholes who make movie trailers. I mean that. I am really pissed off at them right now.

I saw Two Towers again this afternoon and the movie didn't start until 20 minutes after it was supposed to. That's not an exaggeration. I looked at my watch and it was exactly 20 minutes after the supposed start time. And the commercials even started a few minutes early this time. Do I really need to sit on my ass another 20 minutes on top of the 3 hours running time of the movie itself?

So what previews did I get? A lot of sequels. X-men 2, Final Destination 2, Bad Boys 2, Terminator 3, Dumb and Dumberer, The Almighty Bruce, Finding Nemo, Carribean Island... And I think one more I can't remember at the moment. I mean WTF?! Start the damn movie.

The only preview I liked was dumb and dumberer and that's because it didn't show me anything from the movie. Most were standard, show every explosion and great bit of action, previews. And terminator 3 ruined the best line in the movie. I won't spoil it for anybody here, but I'm warning you now to not watch the preview if you want to see the movie.

Gah! I don't want to know every single plot point before I see the movie. I don't want to see every bit of cool action. I don't want to sit through 10 fricking previews before a 3 hour movie. I need some sleep.

Yeah. All we got was a title for it. It says it's going to be a prequel.

But what really pisses me off is how much of these movies get ruined during the previews.

Final Destination was crap, so I'm not expecting anything out of the sequel. But they showed every single set up for every person that's gong to die.

Bad Boys 2 ruined a lot of good jokes... But that's not a big deal since the movie should be layered with lots of them. I have confidence in Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to pull out plenty of good jokes.

I already talked about my frustration with terminator 3. They absolutely gave away what was bound to be the best line in the movie. The same thing goes for The Almighty Bruce. They ruined what looks like the best joke in the movie during the preview.

I wish these people would just die. Stop ruining all the best parts of the movies before I watch them.

Ahh. The careful consumer. I know. I used to be there when I couldn't drive. Ever since I got my license I've tried to watch every movie. Even the ones I know are complete crap. Just gives me something to do on the weekends.

You could do what I do and just be chronically late to everything in your life. It's uncanny, my husband and I have counted - statistically impossible, yet almost every single movie we see, we get there late and skip the trailers. I have a sixth sense.......it's just completely useless. šŸ˜‰

Silence did you like Two Towers?

I loved it, I am soo into this Lord of the Rings thing...can't get enough. Now I am waiting for next Christmas already..ye God, I'm too old to be wanting the days to fly by!

I saw the same trailers you saw, I do think Almighty Bruce is going to be funny, and same with Bad Boys 2....Will Smith makes me laugh just being on screen..he's so cool...
I object to all the commercials, what a waste of time..

Ack. A very complicated question. I'll get to that in a bit. I first just have to say that those commercials would piss me off, but my theater usually starts them a few minutes early so that the trailers begin during the normal start time. I regard them as more of those on screen slides that run before the movie starts. And yes. We had 5 commercials before the previews.

What did I think about the movie? Long story short... I liked it as much as I liked the first one. And I thought they were both better than average.

But I was a bit disappointed with the second one because I've read the books beforehand. I absolutely hated the first book. It took forever to start and it didn't have an ending. I thoguht the second book was excellent, and the third book tied it up nicely, but took forever to end. With the movies, it looks like they've taken the good parts on the ends of the second book and lent them to the other parts.

So as it stands I liked the first movie better than the first book. But I liked the second book more than I liked the second movie. Again... I liked both movies about the same. Are you confused yet?

Not there yet, but getting there... šŸ™‚

I gotcha. Well, I didn'read either, but I'm one of those freaks who like to read the book even AFTER I've seen the movie, so are you saying I can stay away from book #1? If it's slow, do I need it? Lots of times when I've read the books first, and then see the movie, I read the book again.

But I loved both movies, and I probably liked the first one better than the second. I need to see #2 again, a few more times.

Who's your favorite character Silence?

Put it this way. Peter jackson made some good choices. First, he didn't spend so much time in the Shire. Only about 30 minutes. It could have been MUCH more. And then he cut out a charater named Tom Bombadil which some people said was a bad choice... but it's a 3 chapter waste of time in my opinion. Also, they don't tell you anything about the ring or its history until the council of Elrond. That alone is a 50 page chapter where they give you every single piece of information at one time. Very heavy to read after the extremely slow beginning.

But then the journey starts and it gets better. As I said before the first book didn't have an ending. They fixed that in the movie by taking the battle that starts out the second book and putting it on the end of the first movie. It made a more climactic moment, but at the same time detracted from the second story. They also chopped out then endings from the second book. The movie gave a sense of completion to each story... but the book left each character on a cliffhanger of some sort. That's as far as I'm going to explain without giving anything away.

Fav character... hard choice. I like Sam, but he's a much different character in the books.

Sorry. I'm still a bit mellow from the end of the semester. Don't worry. I'm gonna be pretty pissed by next week when I realize that I'm going to spend New Year's alone again.

Nope. Still live with parents. And I haven't had a girlfriend since high school.
