I'm almost 8 months sober. Today I am finally feeling my feelings and it hurts and I want a drink - I don't want to do it, but I want to make this go away

(((Cpt)))

You can get through this without drinking.

You are worth having a happy life and drinking is a step backwards from reaching that goal.

Try to keep busy with other things. Do something for yourself that you enjoy.

Get outside, fresh air, think long and hard... will the temporary numbness be worth it?

I've been in your shoes. I am about to celebrate 13yrears of sobriety. It is a yucky feeling but it will pass. I went to meetings and had a handful of people I could call when I needed extra support. You have already invested 8 months of hard work I believe you can continue on this path. It is soooo worth it! Hang on it does get better. Bless you.

Thanks so much for the support. I didn't drink that night, or any other time! I don't know why things are becoming more difficult again, and using my new "tools" is not yet second nature. But I guess it is a learning process.

don't do it, it will kill your liver, and I have lost people to liver cancer from drinking, its not a way to go, believe me, its not a good way to die...

Do something kind for you, while you do that, tell yourself you love yourself and what your doing is loving and healthy for you, say that as often as you can if possible...

you want o replace the negative and bad choice with a good action and good word, the more you do this, the easier it becomes...just a suggestion...

nite all....
