So, about 5 years ago, I met this really great guy right, and everything is NOT as great as it seemed, but I didn't know how bad it actually was at the time. Longest, most complicated story short, I'll just bullet point the issues over the years: *cheating, *chatting, *sexting, *living a double life, *exchanging sexual content with other men, *physically abusing me every time he over drinks, *OVER DRINKING, *possible drug use, *physically and emotionally abusive to our dogs, *giving up custody of his 2 prior children to their mother, *lying, *neglecting his children he had before knowing me, *getting fired from the sheriff's department, *being disowned by his family including his own mother, *allowing me to financially support our family of 8....I bet I could go on forever. I'm actually wondering WTF my problem is, at this point!

I'll be honest, I've had one indiscretion, and he does not know about it. I've tried beyond belief to get this guy to leave me, and he won't. I believe it's financial; it has to be because I'm the bread winner.

Anyway, the way I've stumbled across this forum, was because I was googling "My husband beats my dogs" to see what the deal is with people who could stoop that low. Why was I googling this? Well, this evening, myself, my 2 older daughters (8&9), and my youngest daughter (6mo.) were laughing and talking on the sofa when my husband decided to join us. Cool right? No. So he comes to the living room and immediately begins to disrupt the happy atmosphere by snapping at our dogs (two 2yo. English Bulldogs) who were sleeping on the rug, minding their own business. As I was asking him to relax, our male moved out of my husband's way in fear, and it set off our female, who is very protective of my 6mo. daughter, and they began to fight. My husband then grabbed our female by gripping her skin with his white-knuckled grip and began to drag her out towards the backyard. NOW ALL HELL HAS BROKEN LOOSE - my 2 older daughters begin to scream and cry, my baby starts crying, my son (13yo) bursts from his room, and I'm trying to get him to release our dog from his clutches! He overpowered me and threw our dog through the screen door and attempted to justify what he did by saying that she started a fight with our male too close to the baby! UMMMMM....IS IT JUST ME, or was everything fine until YOU decided to show who was boss to a couple of snoring puppies? At this point I go into damage control and remind my kids that I love them, that they are safe, that our dogs were not hurting, and that this is NOT how animals are to be treated! I then put my kids to bed, and attempted to figure out where this metal break came from.

Longest story longer, he feels justified and I want a divorce!

If divorce is legal in your country and if you think it's the right thing to do the go for it. You have no other reasons to stay in that marriage if he's already abusing you or your children emotionally and physically. Seek help from your family and friends. Consult any legal adviser who can help with your case.
