Let's name one thing that has made us smile today. Doesn't have to be a big thing, just something, that even if you are feeling in the depths of despair, gave you just a moment where, involuntarily, the corners of your mouth turned upward.

Mine: Four years after being adopted, my sweet greyhound girl has finally discovered my chair! This may not sound like much to most people, but so many greyhounds can take months, even years, to finally adapt to a home setting. For whatever reason, it must made me so happy that she felt comfortable enough to get on furniture. I know, I know, many people don't let pets on their furniture, but for me, it made me absolutely GRIN! lol

Note to self: Look in want-ads for used recliner to give to your sweet pup. I'm NOT giving up MY chair! lol

I was reading a book and it made me smile a lot, sometimes laugh out loud. (For any of you who's native language is German: the title is "Ameisenzählung")

good thread!

I smiled this morning while I was doing my exercises when my sweet little calico laid down right up next to me on the floor.

I also smiled when greeted by a friend at work.

whidbey,

I have three cats and I let them get on all of my furniture. Afterall, I do want them to have the ultimate in comfort and to be near me.

oh, yesterday I had to smile, because I noticed that my cat sat in the wardrobe, right between the t-shirts. He never did this before, but now he decided to build a nest against the Sibirean cold that we have here. Of course he used black t-shirts only, so that I appreciate his efforts (he has mainly white hairs that will keep me busy before I can wear any of those t-sirts again). He just looked at me and started to purr loudly, to show me how wonderful he felt about himself and life in general.

I love him. Sigh.

I have two kitties too. My big black boy, Solomon, will sit on my lap in the evening, purr, gaze up adoringly at me, and ever so gently reach up and just touch my face with his paw. Aren't these creatures in our lives just a gift?

Whidbey - (and others)

yahoo has a group called "freecycle" and basically, it's a bulletin board where you post freebie stuff or "wanted" stuff - instead of throwing it in the trash (one man's trash is another man's treasure).

Check it out, perhaps you can find a free recliner for your puppy dog.

As for cats - mine never cease to amuse me. My female cat will walk on the treadmill with us - the brother is TERRIFIED of it. Both stay in whatever room I am working in - and follow me when I change rooms. When I am ill, my female cat sleeps besides me - but if I am healthy, she sleeps with my daughter. Funny how they can sense that. The boy kitty knows when it's time for E to leave for work and jumps in his spot the minute E rises and if E stays in bed longer, he rolls around trying to push him out. And if I don't snuggle the boy kitty, he will gently touch his paw to my face to get my attention until I lift the covers and invite him to snuggle up next to me....the girl kitty likes to sleep under the covers, and the boy kitty loves to get under the sheets when you are making the bed.

My smile this evening, came when, my fiancee called me, and he told me that, he has some romance novels, for me to read. He knows that, I like to read, and I had smiled even more, because, romance are my favorite novels, to read, and those are the kind that he has for me. 🙂

Trying.

I smiled today because my daughter 13 was laying on the floor watching TV and my Matiff puppy (7 months and 105 pounds) was walking by and just sat on her like she was a couch and then just looked up with those huge eyes, like WHAT?
