My husband and I are petioners in a child dependency abuse case. Originally the child told her grandmother about the abuse, had bruises and marks to show for it and made statements to CPS and the Sheriff. Less than 12 hours later, CPS placed her back in the home with her alleged abuser under a loophole of remanding temporary custody to his live in fiance. Then, when her appointed attorney interviewed her afterwards, she recanted everything. Courts ordered counselling for both the alleged abuser and the child. They have been seeing the same counselor. Shes listed under child and adolescent therapy but she specializes in ADULT survivors of dysfunctional families and abuse. I dont think shes qualified to see the child for one but my main question is legally, should the abuser on trial and the victim be seeing the same counselorCry?
