I wonder if it would be better to get couples (or even young single adults) into budget counseling *before* their debt gets deep and their credit gets affected, instead of waiting until they have to dig out of a hole to get them in and get them the information they need. I think there would be a market for this sort of counseling, if it is available.

I don't know that they need counseling as much as they need to pass a class on economics in high school.  Corny as it sounds, back in the day, they used to have classes that would team up couples and make them do budgets.  It was part of sociology or something.

I think either counseling or classes would definitely help. It's important that young people realize how important good credit is, and what it takes to build and maintain it. Any method to convey that information would help them make better financial decisions.

I think that it would be a good idea for there to be some sort of class like this in High School for kids. Also as parents we need to teach our children the importance of not spending more than they have.

I think it’s good idea

if collages and university organized some workshops on credit and debt management for the students. It’s useful for the student how to save their money. I don’t think that any collage have such plan.
