I don't think counseling is ever a bad idea. If you think you might need it, you probably do. That said, there are other things you could try before you head off to counseling, such as a romantic weekend getaway. Sometimes a little jump start and time focused only on each other can do the trick. If the arguing continues, I would definitely look into counseling.

There are counselors that have special training in this area to help people just like you experiencing the difficulties that you have just described. How does your partner feel about couples counseling?
