Hi all,

My girlfriend and I have been going strong and I booked a week flight states away to visit my brother who I haven't seen in five years. His girlfriend bought the ticket for me so i wasn't going to ask her to buy another for my girlfriend, that's just rude. Up until my trip, my girlfriend got more and more clingy which was expected but I felt like I wasn't going to miss her as much as she would I. The first couple days I was gone I missed her like crazy but every day we started fighting worse and worse. I figured it would all be okay once I got back because distance isn't our strong suits. I've only been back for a day but I don't feel much. I know I love her and I plan(ned) to marry her. I don't know what's happening but I feel like I'm just being stupid. How do i fix this?

I guess that's just normal when you're having long distance relationship. Maybe your girlfriend was not emotionally ready to be away from you so it's causing her to behave that way. One important factor you should consider upon dealing with an LDR is assurance. You need to assure her that everything will be alright and you'll both work on your relationship even though you're far away from each other. Time and distance may be your obstacle but if you are just committed enough then there would be no problem at all. Before entering into an LDR, you need to assess yourselves if you are ready and willing to hold onto what you've started. It's a matter of communication. You need to have a constant communication regardless if you're together or not as that is the blood of a relationship aside from love. Talk it out. Make sure you'll have a give and take session. Listen and think before making any decisions.
