In Memory of Anisa Abbas - I created this video on behalf of my cousins and family in memory of our dear grandmother, Mrs. Anisa Abbas, who passed away on 13 July 2011. May her great legacy be honored and shared among relatives and friends throughout the world. ---------- Mrs. Anisa Abdu'l-Razzaq Abbas passed away in the early hours of 13 July 2011 in Mildford, NH. Born 16 May 1925 in Baghdad, Iraq, the eldest child of Abdul-Razzaq Abbass and Zakiya Jameel, she came to the United States in 1990 after suffering religious persecution in Iraq, and took up residence in Nashua, NH. A life-long member of the Bahá'i Faith, Mrs. Abbas will be remembered by her family, friends, and the international Bahá'i community for her distinguished service to the Faith as a steadfast believer in God, and for her humility, generosity and unceasing devotion to the happiness of others. As a young woman, she lived Egypt where she obtained a Baccalaureate in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Alexandria. She also pursued a Master's Degree. While at university, she met her future husband, the late Siddiq Abdul-Majid Sulaiman, an Iraqi Bahá'i who she married after her return to Baghdad in 1952. A high school teacher by profession, Mrs. Abbas took part in numerous Bahá'i activities. She was in 1951 among the first women to be elected to a Bahá'i local Spiritual Assembly in Egypt, later serving on the local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá'is of Baghdad.
