Erin Johnston, MSW, LCSW
I am a licensed psychotherapist and clinical social worker. I have been in private practice for seven years, as part of fourteen years of clinical practice and experience.
I provide services to individuals, couples, and families. Clients include adults, adolescents, and children.
My work with clients focuses on issues including depression, anxiety, relationship conflict, childhood abuse, domestic violence, trauma, stress management, self-esteem, life goal identification, grief and bereavement, pregnancy and loss, post-partum depression, personality disorders, and chronic mental illness.
My therapeutic approach is to view the person as a whole within their environment. I utilize an eclectic approach to provide each client with the insight and tools to significantly improve both their emotional health and overall quality of life. I believe in the importance of assisting each individual in using their own creative process to reach their goals and express themselves.
I work with each client to determine a course of treatment that works for the individual and ensures maximum benefit. Often there are historical issues that negatively impact a person’s current functioning, while it is important to address these issues they may not be the sole focus of treatment. I believe that it is important to work on those past issues while at the same time actively focusing on change in the present.
