Sherrerd Prize for Distinguished Teaching - Patricia DiBarto - DiBartolo graduated from Smith in 1989 and returned as a faculty member six years later after receiving a doctorate in clinical psychology from the State University of New York-Albany. DiBartolo teaches clinical psychology, advanced research methods, and child and adolescent anxiety disorders. Her research specialties include social anxiety and the phenomenology and clinical correlates of perfectionism. She has published more than 30 articles and chapters on these topics, co-edited the volume From Social Anxiety to Social Phobia: Multiple Perspectives, and co-authored a therapist guide titled Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Social Phobia in Adolescents: Stand Up, Speak Out. DiBartolo is also a member of the working group charged with developing the college's strategic initiative to promote a culture of research, inquiry and discovery, and serves on Faculty Council.
