Counseling Associates of Encino

Sandra Kagan, Ph.D. is the Director of Counseling Associates of Encino, and has been in private practice for 28 years. She has lectured extensively, taught seminars, and written articles in the areas of interpersonal relations, communication, assertiveness, grief and loss, stress management, sexuality, meditation, eating disorders and nutrition. She has appeared on national and local television and radio, and has taught at the graduate level at universities.

Dr. Kagan provides an emotionally supportive therapeutic environment. She uses a psycho-educational, holistic approach to the solution of problems. As a result of her training and experience she is able to rapidly assess what is at the core of her clients’ problems, and provide clear, concise guidance in the resolution of those problems.

In working with couples, Dr. Kagan is highly respectful of the different perspectives of each individual. She creates a safe environment in which the couple can discuss their differences, drop their defenses, resolve their conflicts and achieve a closer, more loving connection.
