Whether it is with a family member, a trusted friend or through taking a walk alone in the woods, what we are looking for is to have a better life. Sometimes this is something only we can know.

Psychologists are people we can turn to when we need help sorting these things out. In my practice, I remain mindful that most people are not looking to become steeped in psychology, pet theories or psycho-babble. Whether it is family relationships, emotional difficulties, or worries about the future, I can listen well, help you feel safe enough to be open with me, and work with you toward a life which is richer, deeper, more meaningful, and more hopeful.

Many of you may have had experience with the “mental health system.” Unfortunately, the mental health system has backers and funders who, like many other systems, have their own agenda. Their best interest and priorities may not be in your best interest. Pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies have invested millions of dollars to influence you to believe things which in the end, will make them money whether or not it is in your best interest. This is why I am especially interested in people who are determined to think for themselves and to see through the various cultures – including the psychological culture – which are trying to keep them in line. Life can be much better than that.
