Seems like we are losing touch with each other as this site is so different now.  Plus life moves on and circumstances change.  I know this site has private messaging now, so if either of you are interested I am open to you guys.  I won't message you unless you want to.  Hope you both are doing well.  The weather around here is very gray and damp for the last few days.  I don't think I could stand this kind of weather for very long.  I need spring to come back!  Hopefully the end of this week it is suppose to be nicer.

Take care, TS

Hi Everyone, I am sorry I don't get to the library more often to keep in touch with all of you. I appreciate that you keep the thread going because I can read from my setup at home as I probably told you before. TS, If I can figure out how to post offline, I will do that. I was not able to do it from home and I let them know again here, but I don't think they can help me because of my old setup I have. I lose out on a lot like I mentioned before because when others update, I am left behind. Still nothing promising with family helping me get a computer so this is all I can do for now. Let me see if I can post offline as I should be able to from here.

You sound so much happier, Tumbles.  I am glad you made the move and you will really enjoy the summer and, as you say, getting out and about.

Have been pretty busy around here.  We had a suicide last week…a 17 year old female.  It is thought that it was over a boyfriend relationship.  So painful.  They are so young…if they'd only understand that that is not the way out and life will get better.  It has just been hard at school and we are offering grief counseling to those who want it.  Just very, very sad.  Went to the funeral parlor yesterday and as you can imagine, her parents and grandparents are devastated, as well as her siblings.

Here on the home front…TS…hubby is down your way with his buddies.  Big Shing-dig I guess.  He called me a couple of evenings ago and I haven't heard from him since.

My hip has not gotten better…saw my dr. on Tuesday and he gave me meds and wants to give it 10 days before any MRIs or x-rays, which is fine by me, but I don't think it is helping except I am sleeping better.  I went to a water aerobics class today though, thinking that staying active was the way to go, and I have been paying for it all day.  In my layman's opinion, I think I nned physical therapy, or maybe a chiropractor?  I just wish it would get better.

Well…I have my new range and it is great.  I do like it.  However, when they installed it, there is a mandatory safety feature nowadays and they need to drill into the wall to attach it (prevents said range from tipping).  So…the installer drilled into my water main.  There was water everywhere and leaking down into the basement…finished part where I am now…soaking the carpet and ruining the drop ceiling.  I had to call a "handyman" to cut a hole in the wall, soder and repair the water main, then patch it all back up.  (Hubby can't do things like that!) We have now been at odds with the store where it was purchased because they farm out their deliveries to other companies and no one wants to take any responcibility for the damage done.  Sigh.  One gets so worn down from it all, doesn't one?

And guess that's the news from here.  I am doing laundry and have yet more to do.  Then am going to relax and watch tv unless my friend calls and we go out for margaritas!!!!  That is what she suggested and I think I hope she calls!!!!!  Later……………B

Hi Everyone, Bangles, I read your post from home, but couldnt seem to get here sooner. I hope you are feeling better by now. I am glad it is rainy today because for the two previous nights I had pain in knee and leg that had the fracture before. I am so glad it feels better today and I started to leave without the cane, but usually bring it for the uneven places to have to walk across parking lots etc. Im just happy I felt well enough that I didnt think of the cane right away, but went back and got it anyway. I really dont want to get totally dependent on it if I can help it. I have lost a couple more pounds which also helps the knee greatly everytime I lose a little. I still struggle that some days I know I eat too much bread, just trying to fix something to eat quickly. Im going to have to find a better way and sometimes making some soup really doesn't take that long Ive noticed or some vegetables. That would be the better choice than a sandwich, I'm sure. If you want  you know you can post offline now as well. I can't do that from home either, but I could from here at the library. Well, have a good week everyone. Love, TW

Hi TW and Bangles.  Hope you are feeling better Bangles.  Sorry to hear of your water problems caused by the guy installing your new range.  What a mess!  Sounds like it has been pretty emotional with the suicide of the young girl.  You are right that they are so young and can't see the bigger picture – that time heals and that they will feel better.  Sad.

My son is engaged and it will probably be this time next year when they get married.  They are talking about a destination wedding.  That is so out of the box for me, but I am trying to not insert my opinion too much here.  Not sure what they are going to decide.  My daughter is happy as she and her boyfriend have been together 6 months – which is the longest she has ever dated anyone.  I am just glad for no drama/trauma with her right now.  :)

Bangles, I hope your hip is feeling better and I hope you can get some physical therapy or something to help with the pain.  Water aerobics is probably a very good activity for you with little stress on the joints.

TW, our weight loss struggles is a continuing battle.  Some good days and some bad ones.  It is the darn carbohydrates that get me.

Bangles, TW mentioned the private messaging to you if you are interested.  Not going to push it but wanted to make sure you saw the option.  This site is getting very hard to be on with so much anger and people not being honest in their postings.  I usually just come to this thread, but I do look at threads that show new writings and I am just amazed and saddened.  Not good.

Take care,

TS

Happy Easter to all!   Sorry been off for a bit…not intentionally but just haven't been on the computer as much as before I got a new phone that I can get to all sites with but has much more potential than I use so while I can read, I can't post from it.  I probably could, but…I need to practice.

Love my new stove!  Made sweetbread and also nut and poppy seed rolls and they turned out wonderful!  I got a convection, not really knowing what it was but hearing it was the way to go.  Talked to daughter who is in that line of work/worked with many industrial ovens, and she told me that originally she thought all ovens were convection because the industrial ones all are…that it is just fans…and she had actually thought her oven probably had hidden fans!  Ha!  We then both agreed that it isn't what it may be cracked up to be as thiink about it…oven "boxes," if you will, are not that huge that probably they do cook the correct degrees all throughout.  She told me to let her know if there really is a difference when I make something I regularly make…like lasagna.  We'll see!

We had 3 invites to dinner today but got a small ham and are staying home but walking down the street to some friends' for dessert, I believe, later, and I will take poppy seed and nut rolls.  I also got a Dairy Queen cake for us or for when my daugher comes home later this week for a brief visit and to go to a food fair in town.  Looking forward to seing her…coming alone.    :)

Bad news is my son in law was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and is seeing a specialist next week.  He also is entering his two weeks of finals, has signed up for summer classes as well as an intership up there.  Poor guy is having a h*** of a time getting through school.

I see we can chat off line…I, too, am "open" for friends once I figure out how to use it!

Tumbles…glad you can get on when you get to a library.  Is you Easter Day as rainy, chilly and dreary as here?

TS…glad you had a house full.  I know that I, too, would be happy with that no matter the mess.  Before I read that your son was engaged, I read earlier posts and was wondring if that was in the making and then, there it is!  Congratulations to him and the lucky gal!!!

Re destination wedding…they seem to all like that idea.  Mine got married where they both live/work, but neither family is from there so in essence, a destination wedding for all of us…..Their choice.  Naturally slimmed down the size of the guests due to inconvenience/cost etc.  Still, what she wanted.

My hip has been better and I have to eat my words about the chiropractor.  Was prepared to not like him and not expect relief but was pleasantly surprised as this is the best I've been in 10 weeks.  My md. recommended him and I went with trepidation.  So take that info for what it's worth anyone out there reading and having similar perceptions.

Wrote quit a lot…think of you all often and hope you are all well and at peace.  Later, B

Hi Everyone, I came to the library I used to go to as I had a dentist appt.in the area this morning. It is good to be here again as I always liked this library. It is a nice day to be out. My a.c. unit I bought is not working right so I have to purchase a new one next month. I'll. do a couple more things while Im in the area here. I hope everyone is doing okay and enjoying the spring. Family says they are still working on a computer for me. It will be nice to have before winter if they do. Zinnie, in case you read, I did remember your birthday and I hope you had a nice day. I haven't been to the library near me in a few weeks so this is the first opportunity I had to post. At least I can read your posts from home. Take care, all. Love,TW

Hi Everyone, What I'm finding is since I have this setup where I can do more now, I'm spending less time on here. Ironic, but I do not hear from people as often now and I am not referring to on here necessarily but others I seemed to hear from before. Family and friends who did keep in touch more often. The good thing is I'm getting more productive things done and taking the time to prepare more healthy meals etc. Since I am having a problem with the car again, I am here more so I am glad for the things which are getting done. However, the car again has lessened my activities in getting out more which I was enjoying and with this beautiful weather and all to enjoy now. In any case, I am still happy that I made the move here when I did. Hope everyone is doing well this spring so far. Love, TW

Thankyou, Shining Light. I could be doing better, still get too involved with family issues. Yesterday, when I posted here I was realizing I was trying to caretake once again and control the outcome of a situation I have no control over. I was attempting to come to the rescue again and haven't heard back from the ones I was attempting to help. So, after all these years of struggling with this problem, it still happens for me and it takes me a while to see what I'm doing again. I have to read each day from my Coda books again to try to stay on top of this and see what I'm doing sooner before I get so involved I nearly make myself sick. So far, I am doing better today, thankfully.

I have not taken the time yet to read on the threads to see how everyone is doing. I see there are still some familiar names to me here. It is good to see ones here who have been on this journey with me for a while. In some cases for a few years. A good point for me to remember that it is a journey.

Take care, okay.  Later.

Wow, I decided to just come here to wish everyone Happy Holidays and it turns out I can follow right down from what I posted last.  I am thinking I have finally learned the lesson of Letting Go and Letting G. Interesting that I read the meditations in The Language of Letting Go, but it has taken me many years to hopefully finally get it. I did my best with this last situation I have just been relieved from, but after the fact I think I see I was getting too involved again toward the end of my helping. I was starting to feel that others could have been doing more or I guess more according to my expectations. I had to calm down again and realize we are where we are in our growth and it is a journey for all of us. No amount of pushing or trying to give our advice or getting all stressed out over a situation really helps anyone. So, once again the focus has to come back to ourselves and what we can do to make our lives better. This time, I am glad to be back here again and working on myself. Wishing all of you the best.
