Based on the Saturday Night Live character, Stuart Smiley?

You remember….."I'm good enough, smart enough and dog gone it….people like me."

The holidays are probably a real good time to give this movie another looking at…I know I will.

Love that movie. Great movie. Definitely gonna watch it. Also, don't know if anyone has ever seen it but cats and dogs is also a fantastic movie. Not exactly the same message but very cute.

Hey there,

loverbee, haven't heard about cats & dogs – but will check it out.

katarina, yeah….I love the part in the movie – at the end – when he actually sees his family for the dysfunction that it is…and decides to go his own way instead!!!

Since this has been an Al Franken kind of week, I was thinking about his movie, "Stuart Saves His Family" which is a cult favorite of mine, friends, family, and co-workers. Stuart has to return home for a family funeral and lots of family issues surface. It's a very funny movie which might hit a few sensitive spots. A co-worker of mine really did have to breakup a family fight at a cemetary, my sister could have been the inspiration for the character of Stuart's sister ("I wouldn't ordinarily say this, but can you get yourself to a poundcake?"), and Stuart's father and brother have an existence in everyone's family, and i say must watch!

Yes, that movie was great. Speaking of cult movies I just watched the BEST one ever.
