I have been with my wife and step daughter for 7 years (just married 2 years ago). My step daughter is 10 now and is accusing me of sexual abuse. Before my wife had gotten together she was living with a man that was a registered offender. My question is could my step daughter have been abused at that time and repressed this? Please I need help I am loseing everything for this.

If you think you did not do anything wrong then nothing to be worried about. Maybe your stepdaughter had a traumatic experience before that was not given enough attention to investigate. I think it would be best if you open up the issue to the mother of the child and you may consult a counselor that would analyze the condition then give the proper treatment and help for her. The only way you can find out if your daughter's telling the truth or not is to cooperate with a counselor.

I would have the child physically examined by a doctor and also seeing a therapist.    Find out if someone else is currently abusing her.  Is she angry at you for another reason and trying to "get you" by false accusation?

 

Get you and your wife into counseling.  Take a lie detector test.  They can also detect pedophilia by using a penile plethysmograph.

 

Do what you have to do to prove your innocence.

 

Probably not a bad idea to get a lawyer too.
